Omah

They who are born of the spirit climb to celestial heights

where there is no time”.

A POEM! What shall be my theme?

That earth and sky and air do teem

With joy and mirth? That melody

Of bird ere break of dawn is heard?

That Nature, sparkling, full of glee,

Exulteth that her queen is here—

Her princess of the glad new year?

And in its heart of hearts my day,

Wherein I would not work but play!

In Old-Young mansion have we met

To christen Psyche, child and pet,

Ethereal offspring born of May—

To send it on its mystic way.

From Earth’s fair Eden-time it sprung.

The primal language, pristine tongue,

The first faint lispings after speech

Ere mankind fell or harm could reach

That Paradise sought far and near

By occultist, by poet, seer,

By all aspirants who, in quest

Of truth, have bravely borne the test.

If speech recovered, help restore

Edenic bliss to Earth once more,

Or serve us but as mystic sign

Of unit, blending mine and thine

In sweet fraternal fellowship—

(Not only with the tongue and lip,

But, joining thought to loving deed,

Shall minister to others’ need 😉 —

Well may we hail the Omah tongue

As melody by angel sung.

Announcing Peace! from Heaven to Earth,

By child of May of Psychic birth.

(Anna Hubbard Mercur, Cosmos and other poems, Peter Paul and Brothers, Buffalo N.Y. 1893)

Order of the Omah Language. The Omah tongue is the root of the Language. The primal language was the link which allied man to Yahveh; through it he comprehended a knowledge now lost in a labyrinth of confused sounds. The language in its fullness of meaning, revealed to man the science of material life; made him an alchemist and a prophet; through its symbols he calculated the mathematical construction of the universe, and comprehended the finite meaning of his planetary existence. This language now upon this planet has once more reached the identical point from which it was diffused. Men daily pronounce the magic words, having no conception of their occult power and meaning. It is the purpose of this Order to discover these magic words. A word to the wise is sufficient. The organ of the Order is the Psychic Messenger. The head of the Order is at the head of the nation.-Washingon, D. C.

e nella Enciclopedia delle Fraternità di STEVENS:

Founded at Washington, D. C.; year not given. It describes the original universal language, the root, as the Omah tongue, the primal language ” which allied man to Yahveh,” and alleges that through confusion of sounds much that was known to man is lost; that the Omah language revealed to man the secrets of material life; and that “this language now upon this planet has once more reached the identical point from which it was diffused,” so that ” men daily pronounce the magic words, having no conception of their occult power and meaning.” S. C. Gould, in his ” Resume Arcane Associations,” adds that ” a word to the wise is sufficient;” from which some may infer that the Order thinks it has much it could teach, even to the most erudite students of high grade Masonry.
